The rest of ANGEL HUNT
Reading contest entries
Drafting novel in longhand
Notes on 2 other novels
Work on a big article
70 pages on Heist Romance script
50 pages on LUCKY NUMBERS script
Noodling on a few other ideas
DROPPED/MOVED:
This month was more about adding than subtracting
UNEXPECTED ADDITIONS:
Screenplays
Batch of idea cookies
DISAPPOINTMENTS:
Didn’t get a residency to which I applied
Didn’t finish the Fearless Ink postcard
Didn’t get out enough LOIs
Injured my back, which limited me a lot in the last ten days
What’s your January been like?
[…] The month wrap up is over on the GDR site. […]

My January was not great, but not bad either. Would have liked to accomplish more, but physicality is limited. I’m trying to look at what I did accomplish rather than what I didn’t get done. Working to stop beating myself up.

January has dropped more opportunity on me than I’ve ever experienced. Big opportunities. It’s almost as if I could just take my pick and run with anything. But now I’m like a kid in a candy store. I know I can’t get it all, so I have to pick THE BEST candy. My personality would often cause me to freeze in these situations, but I’m finding ways to embrace like never before. I’ve been in a dark pit for the past 12 years and a VERY dark pit for the past 5 years. The pandemic wasn’t even that bad for me, it was everything that was present regardless of the pandemic. I’ve saved up a lot of gratitude in my soul’s bank account. So, this month’s success seems long overdue.

Yes, we’ve been trained to see what’s left undone, instead of celebrating what we got done!
